We encourage individuals to maximise their skills, abilities, and potential through funding in sports and cultural health and wellbeing activities.
We offer a range of funding categories, including individual representative sport, sporting team sponsorship, funeral and tombstone expenses and projects and activities that provide community benefits. Steps to the Grants Process

Application
Complete an application via the links on the specific application page.
Assessment
Trustees will assess your application, and we will notify you of the outcome.
Distribution
Approved applications will have funds distributed based on the application.
Acquittals
We would love to hear about the impacts the support has had on you or your community.

To start an application begin by selecting the program tab in the header above for the program area in which you want to apply. Please read the Grant Guidelines for the program to make sure your application meets the requirements. if you are not sure feel free to contact us.

Community Benefits Programs

Community Benefits Program Frequency Maximum Grant Amount
Assistance with the funeral cost per deceased Beneficiary. Once off $5,000
Assistance with the tombstone cost per deceased Beneficiary. Once off $2,000
Projects that will deliver measurable social impact on Beneficiary communities’ cultural health and well-being, including Back to Country and NAIDOC events. One application up to maximum amount per calendar year $5,000
Individual representation in a sport or recreational event at regional, state or national level. Two applications up to maximum amount per participant per calendar year $3,000
Sporting team sponsorship at regional, state or national level. Two applications per team up to maximum amount for each application per calendar year $5,000

I have a question and can’t find the answer in the Grant Guidelines?
  • A Wiri, Yuwiburra, and Barada Barna Peoples, resident anywhere in Australia.
  • Any member of the broader Birri Gubba Na;on resident in the Agreement Area.
All applications are through Smarty Grants, which can be accessed from the link on the respective Grant Program website page.
All applications are assessed against the Grant Guidelines and Information document found on the website.
When you submit your applications it can take 3-6 weeks for the assessment process to be finalised.
