Court recognises Yuwibara People’s connection to local lands

Justice Robertson formally recognised the Yuwibara People’s physical, spiritual and emotional connection to more than 313,000 hectares of land and waters around, through a consent determination on 25 February 2020,.

High Court makes its decision in relation to Timber Creek

The High Court of Australia has finally made its decision in relation to the Timber Creek matter.  The court case relates to native title compensation and is considered one of the biggest test cases in Indigenous rights since Mabo.  A recent news article can be found here.
